Regional Cancer Center has been bringing expert cancer care close to home for patients in the northwestern Pennsylvania region since 1987 and is affiliated with UPMC Cancer Centers, one of the largest integrated community networks of cancer physicians and health care specialists in the country. Regional Cancer Center’s working relationship with UPMC Cancer Centers facilitates an exchange of information to integrate our community cancer center with the resources of one of the top academic programs in the country, collaborating to bring comprehensive and state-of-the-art treatment innovations and services to our patients.

Art Therapy Intern


Position Summary: The Art Therapy Summer Intern will support RCC’s Wellness for Life Program by developing and implementing art therapy activities for patients, caregivers and survivors. Intern should be enrolled in an Art Therapy program and possess excellent interaction skills so as to engage their audience appropriately. Intern will be responsible for managing supplies and projects.

Qualifications: Students must have completed one year of advanced education in a relevant field of study. Preference is given to candidates that participate in Pennsylvania's State Work Study Program. Eligibility for this can be determined at www.PHEAA.org.

Medical Physicist, Full Time


Duties: Calibrate therapy equipment; direct determination of radiation dose distributions; direct radiation measurement; calibrate therapeutic x-ray emitting equipment and provide evidence that radiotherapy equipment meets applicable rules/regulations of performance and radiation safety; commission new equipment; obtain traceable calibrations; devise and document equipment checks and performance; periodically check radiation output of simulator for compliance/safety; provide consultation with radiation oncologists on patients’ treatments; direct and design and construction of patient treatment aids or devices; maintain records for regulatory agencies; provide consultation for personnel radiation exposure; develop and maintain documentation procedures to assist with RCC Quality Assurance Program.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Physics, 3 years’ experience in radiation therapy (up to 1 year of post-doc training will be accepted as equivalent to experience). Position is located in Erie, PA.

Student Medical Oncology Intern

Position Summary: Summer Interns will work as Medical Assistants, helping prepare patients for appointments by gathering information, taking vital signs, pulling records from the electronic medical record system, and assisting nurses as needed.
