Regional Cancer Center has been bringing expert cancer care close to home for patients in the northwestern Pennsylvania region since 1987 and is affiliated with UPMC Cancer Centers, one of the largest integrated community networks of cancer physicians and health care specialists in the country. Regional Cancer Center’s working relationship with UPMC Cancer Centers facilitates an exchange of information to integrate our community cancer center with the resources of one of the top academic programs in the country, collaborating to bring comprehensive and state-of-the-art treatment innovations and services to our patients.

Advanced Practice Provider

Position Description: To provide clinical services to patients under the direction of a supervising physician. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) develops a management plan that includes monitoring patient progress, implementing and evaluating diagnostic tests or interventions in collaboration with, and under the direction of, the physician supervisor and/or designated attending physician. The APP will follow established standards, procedures, and practices at the respective hospitals and give specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff. APP assignments include rotations at RCC, providing “rounding” services to member hospitals and coverage at member hospital outpatient infusion centers.

Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist

Position Summary: The Medical Oncology Practice Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist, performs selected duties in the care of the oncology patient under the direction of a licensed nurse, Advanced Practice Provider and/or a licensed physician. Specifically, performs phlebotomy on RCC patients as directed. Process specimens for transport to ACL. Answer phones, order laboratory supplies, and bill patients using the Center’s computer system. Ensures all required information is available to ensure efficient and effective use of time. Assist physicians, mid-levels, nurses and lab staff as required. Prepare and re-stock supplies for treatment rooms. 40 hours per week, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week, Shift Assignment: 8:00 – 12:00 pm Lab, 1:00 – 5:00 pm Medical Oncology Practice.
