Regional Cancer Center has been bringing expert cancer care close to home for patients in the northwestern Pennsylvania region since 1987 and is affiliated with UPMC Cancer Centers, one of the largest integrated community networks of cancer physicians and health care specialists in the country. Regional Cancer Center’s working relationship with UPMC Cancer Centers facilitates an exchange of information to integrate our community cancer center with the resources of one of the top academic programs in the country, collaborating to bring comprehensive and state-of-the-art treatment innovations and services to our patients.

Medical Assistant

Summary: Direct patients to treatment rooms and gather pertinent information, vital signs, etc., prior to physician’s arrival. Pull charts and insures all required information is available to insure efficient and effective use of time. Assist nurses as required. Prepare and re-stock supplies for treatment rooms.

Patient Scheduler

Summary: Schedules patient appointments from phone calls and from electronic physician orders. Reschedules appointments when necessary. Registers patient information in the electronic medical record. Provides rotating coverage for switchboard operator. Receives, screens, and directs all incoming phone calls, relays information departmentally and center wide. Must exhibit excellent phone manners and ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time with a high degree of accuracy and competency.

Medical Oncology RN – Infusion and Office RN

Note: This nursing position may be assigned to multiple functions including Infusion Nurse and Office Nurse.

Summary: The Medical Oncology Registered Nurse has the authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The Medical Oncology Registered Nurse applies competent clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality care outcomes for the medical oncology patients and administers chemotherapy, provides education and emotional support to patients/family; collaborates with RCC staff members and other health care providers to facilitate comprehensive health care services.
