Regional Cancer Center’s working relationship with UPMC Cancer Centers facilitates an exchange of information to integrate our community cancer center with the resources of one of the top academic programs in the country, collaborating to bring comprehensive and state-of-the-art treatment innovations and services to our patients.

Medical Oncology Practice RN – Full Time

Summary: The Medical Oncology Practice Nurse has the authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The Medical Oncology Practice Nurse works with the Physician to apply competent clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality care outcomes for the medical oncology patients and, provides education and emotional support to patients/family; collaborates with RCC staff members and other health care providers to facilitate comprehensive health care services.

The Medical Oncology Practice Nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is relevant to patients under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The Medical Oncology Practice Nurse also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs.

Patient Scheduler

Summary: Schedules patient appointments from phone calls and from electronic physician orders. Reschedules appointments when necessary. Registers patient information in the electronic medical record. Provides rotating coverage for switchboard operator. Receives, screens, and directs all incoming phone calls, relays information departmentally and center wide. Must exhibit excellent phone manners and ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time with a high degree of accuracy and competency.
